How do I just create a dlvr.it short URL, without posting anything?

I'd like to be able to just create a short URL to send via email or elsewhere, without having to auto-post to one of my Destinations. How do I do this?

We don't currently support the creation of a short link via the UI without posting. We will be adding this functionality soon.
In the meantime, you can create a dlvr.it short link via our API.
I tried the API/browser method in Safari and no luck. Hoping to see an official solution soon, thanks for the update.
